As a Health Unit Coordinator on this unit, your daily responsibilities will include performing various administrative and clerical tasks to support the organization and flow of the department. Here, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, families and visitors, ensuring everyone has the best experience possible.This position provides opportunities for growth, including tuition reimbursement, resources to learn and grow, a fulfilling career and comprehensive benefits that invest in your health, your physical and mental well-being, and your future.A caregiver in this role works evenings from 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.Assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources.Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.Handle various computer tasks, such as updating schedules and managing patient information.Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diploma or GEDOne year of experience in a customer service-related roleExperience with typing, computer training or equivalent courseworkPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:College degreeExperience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Physical Requirements:Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
