Mechanical Engineer

The Airborne Sensor RF Design Department is seeking an established Mechanical Engineer to fill an On-Site position in our McKinney, TX location. We are looking for self-starting candidates to support our manufacturing facility in McKinney, TX, perform mechanical design and documentation of electro-mechanical assemblies, and coordinate with and visit suppliers throughout the US.

What You Will Do:

• Follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure the overall production goals are met.
• Work within a multi-disciplined team of engineers with responsibilities ranging production/process support, aerostructure design, housing design, electronics equipment packaging, circuit card assemblies, interconnects, and thermal management.
• Work closely with the Integrated Program Team Lead (IPTL), Program Management (PM), Supply Chain, and other external personnel.
• Support program related travel to external suppliers and other Raytheon facilities.
• Use experience and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and their application for design documentation and fabrication.
• Travel related to external suppliers and other Raytheon facilities typically does not exceed 20%.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Equivalent Engineering from an ABET accredited university and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience to include the following:
• Experience supporting the production of electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with PTC CREO Parametric or other mechanical CAD design tools.
• Experience working with internal and/or external suppliers.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
