Role Description The High School Science Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Bronx, NY. The teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-aligned science lessons, assessing student learning, and providing regular feedback to support academic growth. Daily responsibilities include designing and implementing curriculum, facilitating lab activities and hands‑on experiments, maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with colleagues to align instruction and share best practices. The teacher will communicate consistently with students, families, and school leadership about progress, support needs, and academic goals, while contributing to school-wide initiatives, professional development, and extracurricular or enrichment activities as needed. Qualifications Strong instructional skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development, with the ability to design clear objectives, assessments, and differentiated learning activities. Content expertise in Physics and Environmental Science, including the ability to make complex concepts accessible and relevant for high school students. Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, engaging families, and providing clear, constructive feedback to students. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field; advanced degree or coursework in science education is a plus. State teaching certification or eligibility for certification in secondary science preferred. Experience working in urban schools or with diverse student populations beneficial. Ability to use data to inform instruction, manage classroom routines effectively, and maintain high expectations for all learners.
