2nd Shift Mechanic

Our client is an aftermarket engineering and services company located in Bethlehem Pa. They perform a wide range of services on turbomachinery, including; reliability improvements, performance optimization, repair, component replacement and supply of upgraded/overhauled surplus equipment. They have experience with repowering of turbomachinery packages and have supplied custom designed equipment skids and lube oil systems.

They are seeking mechanically skilled military veterans and transitioning service members with experience maintaining, repairing, inspecting, overhauling, or operating steam turbines, gas turbines, propulsion systems, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, or other rotating machinery.

Military experience maintaining complex mechanical and propulsion equipment can translate directly to a civilian Rotating Equipment Mechanic / Turbomachinery Mechanic role.

Candidates may come from military occupations involving shipboard engineering, turbine maintenance, power generation, propulsion, mechanical systems, or heavy equipment maintenance. Experience following technical manuals, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment casualties, conducting inspections, and documenting maintenance is highly transferable.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble complex rotating equipment.

Perform maintenance and repairs on turbines, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating machinery.

Identify equipment deficiencies, abnormal conditions, and mechanical failures.

Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.

Inspect components for wear, damage, corrosion, distortion, or other failure conditions.

Perform and document dimensional measurements and runout inspections.

Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, depth gauges, and other mechanical measurement tools.

Assist with preparation of components for NDT/NDI and other inspection processes.

Follow technical manuals, engineering drawings, OEM instructions, military technical publications, and applicable specifications.

Perform equipment assembly using specified clearances, tolerances, torque requirements, and procedures.

Document maintenance activities, inspection results, component condition, repairs, and final equipment configuration.

Maintain accurate daily maintenance and work records.

Assist with determining required repairs and replacement components.

Perform quality checks before equipment is returned to service.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Train and mentor junior mechanics or less-experienced personnel.

Adapt to changing maintenance priorities and operational requirements. Job 59401
