Welding Specialist Location: Greenville, NC – Retail shop Responsibilities Evaluate customer welding/cutting practices and conduct weld surveys and efficiency analyses to recommend improvements Advance the Airgas Advanced Fabrication Sales Methodology to contribute to the growth of capital equipment, robotics, and automation solutions Provide knowledgeable support and share expertise on CNC cutting systems, robotic welding systems, plasma/laser integration Act as a mentor to the wider Welding Specialist team, providing onsite product and application training for customers to upskill their workforce Coordinate the installation and servicing of fixed and robotic automation projects, ensuring alignment across stakeholders Collect and report on market trends, industry activities, and customer needs to keep Airgas as a trusted reference and industry leader Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent years of formalized welding experience Five or more years in B2B or specialized sales Reliable transportation, current driver's license, and minimum liability insurance as required by state Preferred Qualifications Welding Engineering Degree or military welding training Exposure to technical sales or consultative background 4+ years of experience within the welding or industrial industry or similar background Preferred Education and Certifications Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Membership in professional societies such as AWS, ASM, ASNT, ASQ, ASME, SME Benefits Competitive base pay with additional bonus opportunities Auto allowance and mileage reimbursement Comprehensive family benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability Paid parental leave – 14 weeks paid child birth benefit 401(k) retirement plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, floating holidays, jury duty leave, funeral/bereavement leave Early access to benefits after 30 days of employment Employee Assistance Program, pre-tax commuter transportation benefit, and other wellness benefits Equal Employment Opportunity Information Airgas is an equal opportunity employer.
