Senior Systems Analyst & Build Engineer - CI/CD

Salary: $118,560 - 126,880 per year Requirements:

• We require at least 5 years of experience in software engineering, systems analysis, application support, DevOps, build or release engineering, cloud engineering, or a related technical field.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• We seek strong experience gathering, documenting, validating, and managing business and technical requirements.
• We require hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum ceremonies, including creating user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and process documentation.
• We seek experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms, plus Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• We require experience supporting enterprise applications in production, along with skills in SQL, Oracle databases, and data analysis.
• We seek an understanding of system integrations, APIs, web services, and data interfaces.
• We require strong scripting ability with PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML, or similar technologies.
• We value problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across cross-functional teams.
• We seek strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supporting commodity risk, energy trading, finance, utility, operational technology, or regulated-industry applications is preferred.
• Experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure; Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitOps, Helm, or other cloud-native technologies; and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Azure Monitor, or CloudWatch is preferred.
• Experience with DevSecOps tools, vulnerability management, and security automation is preferred.
• Relevant certifications are advantageous, including AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert, HashiCorp Terraform, Red Hat Ansible, CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, ITIL, Azure Fundamentals, or Agile certifications.

• You will lead systems and business analysis, including process improvement, solution design, impact assessments, and functional and technical documentation.
• You will support enterprise applications by managing production issues, troubleshooting complex problems, coordinating releases and upgrades, and improving operations.
• You will work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to maintain application reliability and performance and deliver successful solutions.
• You will contribute throughout the Agile Software Development Life Cycle, supporting backlog and user story development, sprint and release planning, and continuous improvement with Product Owners, developers, QA teams, and architects.
• You will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-based solutions using modern DevOps practices.
• You will automate build, testing, deployment, provisioning, and configuration management across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments to improve delivery efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• You will integrate security controls, compliance requirements, monitoring, logging, performance metrics, and automated quality controls into delivery pipelines and operations.
• You will create and maintain technical documentation, architecture artifacts, operational procedures, and training materials.
• You will explain technical concepts to varied audiences, share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and promote best practices, standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.

Our IT Generation client organization is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst & Build Engineer to bridge business, product, development, operations, and vendor teams while supporting modern application delivery and engineering practices. This is a 12-month role based in Richmond, Virginia (23219), with one week in the office followed by one week remote. The pay range is $57–$61 per hour on a W-2 basis; compensation depends on factors including role scope, location, skills, education, credentials, and experience.
