Summary Leads the development of a strategic, dynamic communications and marketing organization that will advance quality of patient care and satisfaction, research and teaching by providing integral, forward-thinking support for the advancement of the overall mission and goals of the health care system. Responsibilities 1. Responsible for managing and leading the UNC Health Communications and Marketing division. Leads press, events, digital strategy, marketing, and all public affairs. Manages critical communications and leads high profile communications issues impacting the organization and the healthcare industry. Serves as a key advisor to the UNC Health CEO in communications management and strategy. 2. Leading People - Leads people toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals. Qualifications Education Requirements: Master's degree required. Licensure/Certification Requirements: No licensure or certification required. Professional Experience Requirements: Requires a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience, with at least twelve (12) years of management experience. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Understands all overarching System operations and policies that guide the organization. Communicates effectively in moments of stress to external stakeholders. Drives and develops innovative ideas and solutions with great significance to the organization's future. Identifies problem areas and skill gaps proactively and addresses them appropriately. Excellent project management and change management skills for designing and implementing high priority System initiatives in a complex environment. Ability to recognize and articulate risks quickly with little context of the big picture.
