Overview

Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for ENT (trach/airways, head/neck flaps), neuro (e.g., burr holes, craniotomy), and surgical oncology (robotics) cases throughout the intraoperative period.
- Maintain sterile technique, assist with instrument counts, and manage equipment setup and turnover between cases.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, communicate changes to the surgical team, and ensure patient safety, airway management, and hemodynamic stability.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the OR staff to optimize patient outcomes and smooth workflow.
- Document intraoperative events and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record (EPIC) per policy; adhere to AHA BLS guidelines and facility protocols.

Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas or a Compact license
- AHA BLS certification
- Proficiency in ENT (trach/airways, head/neck), Neuro (burr holes/craniotomy), or surgical oncology (robotics) procedures; Level I trauma experience preferred
- OR nursing experience with the ability to float to all ORs as needed
- Completion of in-person orientation (Mon/Tues) and EPIC training (Wed–Fri) as scheduled; credentials due 1 week prior to start
