Organization 14 MCJCHV Cohort 20 Job Summary Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Department/Unit Summary We care for adult patients 18 and older who are being treated for a variety of medical diagnoses. These diagnoses cover a wide range of disease processes including pulmonary, renal, hepatology, endocrine, and post‑procedural patients. Some of our patient population requires knowledge of home vents, wound care, as well as care of patients on some continuous medication drips, including insulin. Shift Full‑Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12‑hour shifts per week) Shifts rotate throughout the week Set schedules are not available; schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs All employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment Care Partner Position Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following: Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical) Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required) Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician Preferred Qualifications Flexible availability Professionalism and reliability Excellent communication and teamwork skills High emotional intelligence Key Responsibilities Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse Assist with day‑to‑day delivery of patient care Facilitate efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards Act as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs Support unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards Additional duties may be assigned Technical Capabilities Clinical Competencies (Novice): Demonstrates competence with interventions such as point‑of‑care testing, vital signs, etc. Care Partner Patient Documentation (Novice): Independently works with clinical applications for patient documentation Environment of Care (Novice): Demonstrates ability to set up and maintain patient rooms, supplies, and equipment; can train and educate peers; models CREDO behaviors Planning & Organizing (Novice): Anticipates basic resource needs, identifies tasks, meets deadlines, organizes work, prepares and presents status reports, addresses problems proactively, adapts to changes, understands organizational values Core Accountabilities Perform routine tasks that may impact team performance with occasional guidance Utilize discretion and research to solve routine problems Apply knowledge of standards, established procedures that apply to own job Provide guidance to entry‑level co‑workers Position Qualifications Experience Level: Less than 1 year Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required) Benefits This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within Vanderbilt Health, supported by a comprehensive benefits package which may include health, disability, retirement and/or wellness offerings.
