Lead Application Engineer

Lead Application EngineerWe are looking for a Lead Application Engineer to join our team and lead the development of key projects across our application. This senior-level role requires someone who can independently drive projects from ideation through to delivery, across multiple layers of the stack: UI, backend, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of SaaS cloud architectures, excellent coding skills, and experience building scalable, high-performance applications. Exposure to AI and machine learning is a plus as we continue to integrate advanced features into our platform.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and deployment of complex projects across the application stack (UI, backend, infrastructure).Collaborate with CTO and CEO to define project requirements and designsEnsure code quality, performance, and scalability through best practices in cloud architecture and software engineering.Own and drive the full development lifecycle, from architecture design and system integration to testing and production release.Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring the quality of their work.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI innovations to contribute to the evolution of our product.Qualifications7+ years of experience in software engineering with a track record of independently leading significant technical projects.Strong expertise in cloud SaaS development, with experience in architecting scalable, high-availability systems.Proficiency in backend technologies (Python preferred) and familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js, etc.).Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying applications in a microservices architecture.Knowledge of data modeling, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and experience working with complex data structures.Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or natural language processing, with experience integrating AI technologies into applications.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Nice to HaveExperience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) or knowledge graphs.Familiarity with legal industry workflows or legal technology solutions.Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.Why Join UsWork on a product that is revolutionizing the legal tech space with AI-powered solutions.Opportunity to shape the direction of an early-stage startup and have a significant impact.A collaborative, dynamic, and innovative work environment.Competitive salary, equity options, and benefits.Hybrid team with flexible in-office hours.
