Shift - Days

Work Schedule - 7:30a-8:00pm, 2 shifts/per week, 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

The Unit Technician (UT) provides clerical support such as assembling and maintaining patient charts, completing admission and transfer/discharge forms, updating pertinent information in the MD state system. UTs are also responsible for greeting visitors, answering phones, relaying calls and messages, providing routine information. He/she performs cleaning for all equipment on the unit and maintains adequate supply levels in designated carts. He/she stocks supplies, orders special supplies, and ensures efficient and timely pickup and delivery of unit associated goods, supplies and transport of labs as needed.

Position Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required: Graduate of high school or GED program. Preferred: some post-secondary education. Other: Attained Level: Requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions normally acquired through a high school education high school graduate. Preferred: some post-secondary education.

Applicable Experience: Experience (years): 1-3 years. Experience (describe required & preferred): Unit Clerk or Office manager or similar position in healthcare setting or equivalent.

Technical/Clinical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite Skill Level, Working knowledge of ICD-10 (Medical Coding), Basic knowledge and working experience with Medical Terminology, Standard Office Equipment: computer, fax, copier. Compensation: Pay Range - $17.50 - $28.48
