BILLING SPECIALIST

COMPENSATION

• Hourly Rate: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a Billing Specialist to support the billing operations of its long-term care pharmacy. This role is responsible for insurance verification, claims processing, billing issue resolution, and providing exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and clients.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining accurate billing records while ensuring timely claim processing and outstanding customer support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.

• Accurately enter billing charges and maintain patient account records.

• Initiate private-pay collections following insurance denials, cancellations, or coverage issues.

• Process, monitor, and follow up on insurance claim denials.

• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and client account concerns.

• Complete monthly billing closeouts and invoice processing.

• Communicate with patients, family members, and insurance providers regarding billing questions and account status.

• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy.

• Assist with additional billing and administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

• Previous medical billing experience preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Strong data entry and computer skills.

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
