CMMS Work Order Planning Lead

Your mission: plan precisely, schedule smartly, communicate clearly, and keep assets reliable.What you’ll ownBacklog fidelity: Daily review and triage by safety, urgency, production impact, and resource availability; ensure each work order has complete/accurate fields—description, status, estimated labor hours, parts, and scheduled start date.Gatekeeping: Take part in the daily approval meeting; identify potential duplicates and request more details before requests advance.Task plan quality: Build and refine PM task plans in partnership with reliability engineering.Weekly schedule: Publish a rolling plan that covers safety work, production-driven priorities, corrective actions, PMs, predictive tasks, and TPM/Blitz items.Cross-functional alignment: Coordinate with production to minimize downtime; circulate the preliminary schedule, lead the weekly review, and release the final schedule.Labor optimization: With the Maintenance Superintendent, confirm technician coverage, balance capacity, and reduce overtime.OEM/vendor cadence: Schedule visits aligned to plant needs; log follow-up work requests; archive service reports in the shared network; lead post-visit debriefs and assign owners.Performance visibility: Track and report completion rates, schedule compliance, deferred work and reasons, and labor utilization/wrench time; recommend improvements.Continuous improvement: Participate in AFIs and feed learnings into future plans and schedules.Readiness: Ensure PMs and required regulatory inspections are completed on time; preserve schedule flexibility for emergent work and unplanned downtime; close the loop on emergency jobs and re-plan impacted tasks.Rapid response: Support Supervisors and Technicians during machine-down events to accelerate restoration across all plant equipment.How you’ll do itLeverage a CMMS (Llumin experience is a plus) and advanced tools like Excel, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Project.Facilitate effective meetings and influence peers and leaders to secure inputs and commitments.Bridge office and floor—relate to craftspeople, interpret OEM documentation, and translate plans into executable work.Apply TPM alongside preventive and predictive maintenance disciplines.Background we’re seekingHigh school diploma or GED required; degree or technical training in maintenance, industrial technology, or engineering is a plus.3+ years planning/scheduling in manufacturing or industrial settings; corrugated or similar industry experience preferred.Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to read/interpret technical documents, equipment manuals, and OEM service reports.Essential abilitiesLanguage: Read and follow instructions on factory masters.Math: Accurately use a tape measure; compute percentages, measurements, volume, and rate; apply high school math concepts.Reasoning: Apply sound judgment to written, oral, or graphic instructions.Technical breadth: Equipment design/capabilities, OEM drawings/schematics, and maintenance procedures; support technicians with details on bearings, chains, belting, pumps, motors, pulleys, etc.; knowledge of product layouts/specs, product quality specs, and quality standards.Licenses & credentialsMaintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other certifications required for specific areas/equipment.Work setting & physical expectationsPhysical: Regular standing/walking; frequent hand use, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; occasional sitting. Routinely lift/move up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
