Payroll Accountant

Location: Greenwood Village, CO (in-office)

Salary: $55,000-65,000 annually, DOE

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to manage full-cycle payroll processing and support broader accounting functions across a multi-entity organization. This role combines hands-on payroll administration with month-end close support, reconciliations, and cross-functional accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle, biweekly payroll in ADP for roughly 200 employees across multiple entities
• Audit timecards for accuracy and troubleshoot discrepancies before each payroll cycle closes
• Incorporate approved variable pay, including bonuses, commissions, and other compensation files, into the correct pay cycle
• Build retroactive and prorated pay batches, and key in approved manual deductions (401(k), parking, etc.)
• Field routine payroll-related employee questions with discretion and professionalism
• Create payroll journal entries for month-end close
• Tie-out payroll registers, cash movement, liabilities, and deductions against related GL accounts
• Keep payroll documentation audit-ready and respond to tax filing or records requests
• Apply incoming customer payments to correct accounts/invoices and handle check deposits as needed
• Own assigned bank and GL reconciliations, along with routine journal entries and their documentation
• Contribute to month-end close across payroll, billing, and other assigned accounts
• Dig into discrepancies and assist the Senior Accountant and Controller on audits and accounting projects
• Assist on ERP-related initiatives — implementation work, process improvements, testing, and data cleanup
• Support other accounting areas as needed, maintaining department standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar highly preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience required
• Proven understanding of journal entries and account reconciliations
• NetSuite or similar ERP background preferred
