Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neurosurgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Experience in pre- and post-operative care for cranial and spinal surgery patients Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical nursing with a focus on neurosurgery. The nurse will provide care for pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients. Common procedures include managing intermittently drained lumbar and surgical drains. The unit does not take any drips that require titration, with the exception of specific medications. Ratios are typically 1 nurse to 4-6 patients. Weekend availability is required every other weekend. The nurse will work with an interdisciplinary team that includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. The facility is a Magnet and teaching hospital, recognized for excellence in nursing and healthcare. Candidates must be flexible in floating within their scope to meet facility needs. Traveling staff must adhere to all compliance requirements set by the organization.
