PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform echocardiography and vascular procedures
• Check rooms and equipment, restock supplies, and review patient schedules
• Schedule patients
• Read physician orders
• Enter patient information into system
• Obtain quality images by positioning and repositioning transducer
• Print graphics and data; calculating measurements of heart wall, chamber size, blood flow direction, and velocity
• Maintain ultrasound equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of an accredited program in diagnostic medical sonography.

EXPERIENCE:

One or more years of work experience in echocardiography and vascular technology.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid registry/certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (A.R.D.M.S.) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (R.D.C.S.); and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (C.C.I.) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (R.C.S.); BCLS Certified or willing and able to be certified within a reasonable period
