Intern, Office of Career Services - Technology Team

Job Description Summary & Additional Information The Intern for the Office of Career Services (OCS) Technology Team supports the Technology Manager by reporting and processing data. The role is an hourly internship that runs for 15 months with 20 hours per week (40 hours in the summer). Responsibilities Develop and maintain system interface scripts using Python and REST APIs for systems such as 12Twenty and Salesforce. Design, develop, and maintain a Business Intelligence (BI) system using Excel, Power Query, PowerBI, and Google Sheets/Google Apps Script. Manage data integrity by performing regular de‑duplication and quality‑control reviews. Design, implement, and maintain tables, views, and queries in a SQL database. Export data from HireSmith to provide standard reports on real‑time recruiting volume, student activities, coaching volume, recruiting trends, employer profiles, and history. Respond to reporting and data requests from HireSmith, including student engagement and recruiting patterns. Assist in managing the work of multiple undergraduate students on OCS projects. Create reports and analysis on historical recruiting patterns and volume. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Professionalism & Customer Service: experience interacting positively with multiple constituencies in a fast‑paced environment. Python programming required; experience with Salesforce a plus. Strong Excel, ETL, and BI skills (Tables, array functions, VLOOKUP, Power Query, PowerBI, etc.). Database management skills, particularly SQL, for exporting and manipulating data. Conscientiousness, dependability, attention to detail, critical thinking, discretion, and sound judgment. Initiative to propose solutions and process improvements. Teamwork and collaboration across diverse organizational levels. Required Qualifications Graduate student currently enrolled at the University of Maryland. Additional Information • Duration: 15 months, from Monday August312026 to WednesdayDecember222027.
