Site Manager, New Directions Secondary School Job Category : Upper Management Requisition Number : SITEM007376 Posted : August 25, 2026 Full-Time Locations Showing 1 location New York, NY 10001, USA Description Job Summary The Site Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of The Home for Little Wanderers' Wediko NY programming at New Directions Secondary School (NDSS) in the Bronx. The Site Manager is on-site at the school 5 days a week and is responsible for provision of multi-tiered programming support and services (at the universal and selective levels). The Site Manager is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, and implementing the Learn to Work (LTW) initiatives’ strategies, services, and resources in consultation with the principal and the School Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide task supervision to on-site staff (4 employees). The Site Manager liaises with the school, other Community Based Organization (CBO) partners and public and private partnerships, and city agencies on behalf of the initiative at the school level; participates in the development and manages the implementation of LTW plan consistent with the expectations of the principal. Salary is $68,000 - $75,000 annually. How You'll Be Making a Difference Work with key stakeholders in the community to learn and understand the history of partnerships and the unmet needs. Maintain and support existing partnerships and develop new linkages to support LTW programming and ensure access to resources and supports students and families may need. Active participation in school wide meetings such as Attendance Meetings, School Social Committee and Partnership meetings. Provide task supervision to staff and interns on site. Support management of the LTW program at NDSS in collaboration with NDSS staff. Use available data (including but not limited to: attendance, referral rates, progress indicators, internship skills evaluations, testing, and disciplinary referrals) to inform programming and interventions. To leverage resources from the community, Site Manager gathers information on site-specific referrals in relevel areas (e.g. physical & mental health, advocacy, immigration, education, substance abuse, recreational). This process includes learning eligibility requirements, conducting site visits, and facilitating relationships to serve students and families. Site Manager will prepare and provide workshops to both staff and parents/families on relevant topics throughout the year. Build bridges to integrate resource agencies into school community. The Site Manager will promote awareness of services and referral procedures to school staff in monthly faculty presentations. Problem-solving at the student, staff, family and school-wide level. May include managing a small caseload and participating in student and/or family meetings. Additional direct services may include outreach calls and providing milieu support during transitions, lunch time and arrival and dismissal. Oversight and management including some data entry of various management information systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences, Public and/or Education Policy Administration. Advanced degree (e.g., MSW, M.S. Ed, MPA/P) preferred. 2 to 3 + years’ experience collaborating effectively with public schools and community-based organizations to improve the outcomes of at-risk students. 2 to 3 + years’ experience working within or managing LTW or other work-readiness/internship programs and/or other government-funded afterschool and enrichment programming Significant experience with assets and needs analysis, community organizing, problem-solving, networking and developing relationships with private and public partners, program management and improving access to resources for students, parents, school staff and community members, overseeing internships and workforce development initiatives Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to approach challenges in a supportive and creative manner Excellent organizational and prioritization skills Flexible schedule and willingness to work school hours as well as some weekends/evenings We are committed to excellence in diversity, equity, and inclusion, while simultaneously creating a culture that supports those values.
