In Waters, the Lab and Data Management group produces software that is used by people worldwide for specialist measurement and scientific analysis. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work in one of our Cloud Development teams. ResponsibilitiesThe meaningful work you will be asked to lead: Lead User Story refinement meetings to ensure stories are understood and decomposed adequately Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, document and implement quality solutions Work independently and as part of a team with deep focus on hard technical problems and explain the why, how, and what, that makes your solution technically sound, provide constructive feedback regarding best practices, performance, and maintainability Stay ahead of the curve with respect to new technologies and techniques with an eye towards continual improvement of both the team’s skill set and the product goals To act as technical expert and mentor for coding, process and best practices (e.g. adherence to Definition of Done) and effectively communicate this to the team Collaborate across teams to improve working practices and skill levels To carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the Quality Policy and all applicable procedures QualificationsAbilities that will help you be successful: Extensive knowledge and proven experience as a software developer, with exposure to elements of our back end technology stack, including C#, .NET.Good experience working with Amazon Web Services, Microservices, API development Knowledge and application of software engineering practices (e.g. Unit testing, TDD, CI/CD, SOLID, BDD etc.). Proven ability to lead design and development of complex features Proven ability to work as part of an Agile delivery team. Ability to analyse and solve problems using critical thinking to identify cross-domain concerns.Excellent communication and team building skills.
