Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter

Location & Schedule: This is a hybrid opportunity that requires onsite in‑office presence three days per week at our office in New York City. Applicants must be located within a commutable distance to New York City. Responsibilities Evaluate information to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines. Make appropriate decisions based on the evaluation of underwriting information. Effectively communicate and negotiate underwriting and pricing decisions to achieve optimal outcomes. Document decisions in accordance with regulatory standards. Act with a sense of urgency on all inquiries and requests. Provide outstanding customer service. Underwrite a moderate book of business with a moderate to complex risk profile. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate Degree or higher, plus 5 years of relevant commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience. Additional 2 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Excess and Surplus Lines experience is highly preferred. Bilingual (English/Mandarin) is strongly preferred. Ability to react and respond quickly and professionally. Creative, analytical, and innovative thinking to devise productive problem‑solving. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Pay Range 85,000 – 115,000 annually.
