Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Registered Nurse provides compassionate, specialized nursing care to patients with mental health conditions. They deliver safe, evidence-based interventions while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patients' mental health needs, developing individualized care plans based on current research and clinical best practices.
• Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration, patient monitoring, and crisis intervention.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans and ensure seamless transitions of care.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies to support ongoing recovery.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, documentation standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Promote therapeutic relationships through active listening, empathy, and cultural competence.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid NYS RN license.
• Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or demonstrate relevant clinical experience.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Be certified in CPI or PMCS.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records highly preferred.
• Maintain BLS certification.
