Job SummaryAs a senior-level clinical leader with 5–8 years of specialized experience, the Manager of Clinical Informatics serves as a strategic architect between IT and clinical practice. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of Clinical Information Systems (CIS), from high-level design to large-scale implementation. The Manager leverages deep clinical expertise and advanced technical knowledge to lead a team of informaticists, ensuring technology serves as a catalyst for patient safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory excellence Essential FunctionsPeople Leadership & Workforce DevelopmentDirectly supervises and mentors a team of Clinical Informaticists, including performance management, goal setting, professional development, and succession planning.Allocates resources effectively to support enterprise priorities, large initiatives, and sustained optimization efforts.Contributes to workforce planning by identifying capability gaps, emerging skill needs, and role evolution within Clinical Informatics.Enterprise Informatics Strategy & GovernanceEstablishes and maintains enterprise standards for clinical workflows, build design, testing methodologies, validation processes, and system readiness.Provides expert informatics consultation to executive leadership, clinical councils, and governance bodies regarding clinical, operational, and safety impacts.Facilitates high-stakes decision-making by evaluating enterprise-level risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts of clinical system changes.Optimization, Analytics, & Continuous ImprovementDrives long-term optimization strategies using performance metrics, outcome data, and national best practices.Leverages data analytics to monitor the adoption and clinical impact of healthcare informatics solutionsLeads continuous improvement efforts to reduce variation, improve clinician experience, and enhance care delivery efficiency.Cross-Functional & Enterprise CoordinationDrives organizational excellence by providing SME support for CI-led initiatives, coordinating with diverse teams to translate complex clinical and regulatory needs into cohesive operational workflowsServes as a primary liaison between clinical stakeholders and IT partners, ensuring clinical needs are accurately translated into technical solutions.Communicates effectively across executive, clinical, and technical audiences to align expectations, timelines, and outcomes.Leadership & Organizational ImpactServes as a change agent, supporting departmental shifts during technology implementations while maintaining clinician trust and engagementSupports enterprise digital strategy by aligning informatics initiatives with organizational priorities, safety goals, and operational excellence frameworks.Represents Clinical Informatics in enterprise forums, vendor engagements, and strategic planning activities as delegated.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field requiredMaster's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field strongly preferred*A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeBachelors or Masters - 6-9 years in clinical informatics, healthcare operations, or health information technologyBSN/MSN - 7 years of Clinical Informatics Experience1-2 years of experience in a leadership role1-3 years of experience advising executive leadership and participating in organizational governance structures Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMaster level understanding of clinical workflows and organizational operations across multiple care settings.Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior and executive leadership.Expert ability to develop enterprise strategies for workflow, testing, and Validation.Strong command of change management frameworks and enterprise-level implementation methods.Advanced analytical skills to drive long term performance improvementsAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver results independently.Ability to identify and address complex organizational issues with minimal guidance.Highly skilled in building cross functional alignment across departments, service lines, and leadership groups.Strategic thinking and the ability to translate organizational goals into workflow and system recommendations.Recognized subject matter authority in clinical informatics principles and best practices.Licenses and CertificationsCertification in Clinical Informatics (e.g., ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification, CAHIMS/CPHIMS) Oracle Health Cerner Preferred Full timePosting Date: 2026-08-10
