Medical Director

Mercy Community Healthcare is hiring a Medical Director of Addiction Services located in Franklin, TN. The role provides high‑quality medical care and clinical leadership in addiction medicine, with oversight of the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program and collaboration with leadership to expand services. Responsibilities Provide high‑quality medical care in accordance with recognized standards of care related to addiction medicine. Adhere to established treatment protocols set by the agency. Direct the development, ongoing review, and implementation of best practices related to substance abuse services. Work in conjunction with the CMO and other Mercy leadership to grow and expand substance abuse services. Provide clinical leadership to the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) team. Prepare and actively participate in multi‑disciplinary team meetings. Explain treatment recommendations and review risks and benefits of prescribed medications with patients. Provide consulting services to other providers caring for patients to ensure proper integration of care. Provide education and counseling as appropriate with patients and their identified support system. Provide urgent care to patients as needed, including care in primary care and psychiatric clinics. Actively participate in Quality Assessment and Improvement management programs. Maintain timely and proper medical records in accordance with all agency standards for timeliness. Provide clinical supervision to mid‑level providers as needed to ensure the care team is providing appropriate care. Lead and participate in staff training on MAT best practices. Qualifications MD or DO degree with an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Tennessee. Active DEA‑X Waiver. Board eligibility or certification in Addiction Medicine. Successful completion and passing of the internal credentialing process. Ability to obtain credentials from all relevant government agencies, health plans, or facilities.
