Engineer

Overview As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non‑routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The role focuses on critical testing primarily for aerospace customers, ensuring timely and accurate test results, and collaborates with other departments to develop custom test solutions that span multiple disciplines to support customer needs. Salary: $65,000 - $105,000/hr DOE Responsibilities Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting complex machinery or equipment. Working knowledge of dynamics, vibration and shock theory and related systems. Skills / Qualifications Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervision. Takes initiative and does not need to wait for further instruction. Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols. Leads and assigns the work of others when needed. Analytical/technical knowledge that provides a marked impact on overall laboratory technical capabilities and services. Adapts at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor. Works on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis under the close guidance of advanced Engineers. Defined work experience that impacts the day-to-day technical decisions made to deliver laboratory testing services and customer support. Recognized by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge. Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions.
