Job Summary
We are seeking a Material Handler/ Saw Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, shipping, storing, moving, cutting and preparing material for production and customer orders. The position operates forklifts, saws and other material handling equipment to ensure material are accurately processed, staged, and delivered while maintaining quality and safety standards. Responding to orders quickly and accurately is an essential part of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is highly organized, with strong attention to detail and previous experience in a similar role. 

Responsibilities 

• Load and unload materials from trucks safely and efficiently using forklifts.
• Move material throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Inspect deliveries to ensure all materials meet quality standards
• Label materials with grade and certification.
• Measure, verify dimensions, and cut material according to work orders.
• Operate band saws, cold saws, or other cutting equipment as part of preparing orders for production.
• Monitor saw blade condition and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Prepare outgoing shipments securely to prevent damage during transit and required documentation.
• Track and report shop supplies to ensure continuous workflow
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedure and wear required PPE
• Handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Must have excellent customer service skills 

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Materials Handler or in a similar position
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, counting, measurements)
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately is a must requirement.
• Basic computer skills for shipping system
• Experience operating a forklift (forklift certification preferred)
• Experience operating saws preferred but will train
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
• Work in a manufacturing / warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects
• Availability to work overtime when necessary
