Associate Director Medical Writing (Hybrid)

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks an Associate Director of Medical Writing to lead document development and team operations for regulatory submissions. This hybrid role in Boston requires advanced technical expertise in clinical documentation and demonstrated management capability.
Responsibilities
- Author routine and complex clinical and regulatory documents independently
- Provide leadership and management oversight for Medical Writing Science team
- Coordinate clinical sections and content strategy across complex regulatory submissions
- Develop program-level strategic input and align messaging across clinical programs
- Identify risks, implement process improvements, and facilitate adoption of new technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline
- Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree
- 8+ years work experience with 2+ years supervisory/management experience
- Experience with marketing authorization application regulatory submissions
- Proven ability to manage direct reports and guide staff development
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills for complex, non-routine issues
Compensation: $157,600 - $236,400 base
