Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Freestanding Emergency Department)

Location

Edinburg, TX | Freestanding Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Mid Shift (1:00 PM – 1:00 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a fully functional freestanding emergency department with a 1:5 patient ratio across all age groups
• Perform strong triage and efficiently prioritize patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Assist with and support procedures including splinting, moderate sedation, chest tube insertion, central line placement, arterial blood gas, lumbar puncture, and nebulizer treatments
• Document and manage patient care using the Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate effectively within a team nursing environment alongside RNs, radiology technicians, and physicians
• Float to the main Emergency Department and other sister freestanding emergency departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of emergency nursing experience
• Proficiency in Meditech EMR
• Strong triage skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize patient care
• Comfortable and proficient managing patients of all ages
• BLS , ACLS , PALS , TNCC , and ENPC certifications required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
• Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center settings
• Ability to assist with obstetric deliveries in an emergency room environment
• Familiarity with rapid sequence intubation techniques and proficiency in setting up for mechanical ventilation
