Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary: The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to obstetric patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum, ensuring safe and effective management of maternal and neonatal health. This role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Monitor fetal and maternal status, recognize changes, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, adhering to provider orders and safety protocols.
• Educate patients and families on labor, postpartum care, and newborn care needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care, ensure continuity, and facilitate referrals.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record.

Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska or other U.S. jurisdiction.
• Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications; high-risk competencies required within specified timelines.
• Demonstrated clinical judgment and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments.
