Certified Surgical Technologist

Overview Department: Surgery Schedule: PRN Days Facility: Prime Healthcare St. Joseph Location: Elgin, IL Responsibilities The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining the sterile field during the case and providing the surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014. Graduate of an ORT training program or on‑job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred). Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties (e.g., GYN, General and Plastics). Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas (e.g., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.). Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it. Pay Transparency Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin offers competitive compensation; the estimated starting pay for this role is $38.00 per hour. The exact compensation will be determined at the time of hiring based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
