Human Resources Coordinator Dwight-Englewood School, the largest independent school in Bergen County, NJ, is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join its HR Department. The coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the HR team, ensuring confidentiality and organization. Location Englewood, New Jersey Salary $26-$28/hr Job Description We seek an individual who can provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the HR department. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling confidential information. Responsibilities Ensure all onboarding documents are complete (I-9, W-4, background checks, TB test, direct deposit, etc.). Monitor onboarding spreadsheet to ensure IT, facilities, security, etc. have necessary information for new employees. Process, review and respond to unemployment and workers’ comp claims with appropriate documentation. Maintain and update employee records and files. Administer PTO program, including sick leave. Compile reports to maximize HRIS system utilization, including compliance, EEOC, and other reports. Enter all HR department invoices into the expense management system. Maintain the internal HR website. Manage Sunshine Committee for school. Manage Employee Recognition Program. Manage Annual Health Clinic with local pharmacy. Act as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Human Resources. Other HR administrative duties as necessary. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources. Bilingual – Spanish is a plus. Special Skills & Knowledge Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations and compliance requirements (ACA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, etc.). Strong knowledge of ADP HRIS system. Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel, Sheets, Word, PowerPoint). Experience in a school setting preferred. Alignment with school’s mission, vision, and values. Commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, and anti-bias education. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong independent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Terms of Employment 12‑month administrative position. Professional days are considered work days; participation in planned activities is mandatory. Standard working hours: 8 am – 4 pm; attendance at weekly division/department meetings required. Salary range: $26–$28 per hour, depending on experience.
