Financial AnalystThe Financial Analyst will support financial planning and analysis activities across the FICC businesses, with primary responsibility for expense forecasting, headcount management, variance analysis, and management reporting. This individual will partner closely with business leaders and centralized finance teams to deliver accurate forecasts, insightful analysis, and executive-ready reporting.The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and frequent ad hoc requests.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & ForecastingLead monthly expense forecasting and annual planning processes across multiple FICC business lines.Develop and maintain forecasts for compensation, non-compensation expenses, allocations, and headcount.Partner with business managers and finance leaders to identify forecast risks and opportunities.Support budget development and resource allocation initiatives.Financial AnalysisPerform monthly variance analysis against forecast, budget, and prior year results.Analyze expense, headcount, and allocation drivers and communicate key trends to stakeholders.Monitor organizational changes and maintain accurate staffing and expense assumptions.Assist in evaluating business initiatives, investments, and organizational changes.Management ReportingPrepare consolidated FICC financial reporting packages for senior management.Develop executive-ready presentations highlighting key business trends, financial performance, and emerging risks.Support recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.Coordinate reporting deliverables across various FICC businesses to ensure consistency and accuracy.Strategic & Ad Hoc AnalysisRespond to ad hoc requests from business leaders and finance executives.Assist with special projects involving financial performance, expense management, organizational planning, and business strategy.Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, enhance data quality, and increase efficiency through automation and standardization.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree, or equivalent work experienceTypically five or more years of related experiencePreferred Skills/ExperienceExperience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, Banking Finance, or related analytical roles.Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.Ability to synthesize complex data into concise, actionable insights.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience supporting capital markets, corporate banking, investment banking, trading, or treasury-related businesses.Familiarity with expense forecasting, workforce planning, and management reporting.Experience working with financial reporting systems such as Essbase, Hyperion, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.Experience preparing materials for executive and senior leadership audiences.The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.If there's anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.Benefits:Healthcare (medical, dental, vision)Basic term and optional term life insuranceShort-term and long-term disabilityPregnancy disability and parental leave401(k) and employer-funded retirement planPaid vacation (from two to five weeks depending on salary grade and tenure)Up to 11 paid holiday opportunitiesAdoption assistanceSick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 80 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by lawU.S. Bank is an equal opportunity employer. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.
