• Must have RRT license in hand to submit.
• Must obtain NRP prior to the start date.
• High-risk experience preferred; if no experience, must be open to high-risk training on-site.
• Comfortable with basic pediatric respiratory therapy care.

Description:

The therapist will assist in pediatrics and with pediatric ER patients. Must be comfortable with all patient ages. Floating required as needed within the region. This includes mid-shift floating to ensure all guaranteed hours are worked. Work in a setting with a combined total of 700 beds. Treat and educate patients with diagnoses including asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and non-pulmonary conditions. Perform both general and critical care including medication delivery and bronchopulmonary hygiene. Initiate, manage, and wean from invasive and non-invasive ventilation. Manage airway and suction, including intubation assistance and extubation. Respond to rapid responses and emergency codes. Perform CPR and conduct blood gas sampling and analysis. Collect specimens and monitor spontaneous breathing parameters. Changing tubing and bags for invasive and arterial lines is the therapist's responsibility. Preferred experience includes working with adult critical care and emergency department scenarios. Equipment experience required includes various ventilators. Skills required include interpretation of arterial blood gases, medication administration, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care. Must assist with high-risk deliveries when necessary. Knowledge of aerosol delivery systems and the use of nebulizers is required. Experience in both neonatal and pediatric care is beneficial but not mandatory. Candidates should have the ability to float between facilities as needed.
