Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM | Weekend and On-Call Requirements Apply

Key Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains the sterile field; passes instruments and sutures to the physician and assists as directed during surgical procedures
• Prepares the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case, using physician preference cards as a guide and keeping them current
• Prepares patient skin for surgery, positions patients according to procedure type, and transports patients to and from the OR suite
• Monitors and controls the surgical environment including traffic control, dress codes, and OR sanitation policies; adheres to Universal Barrier Precautions at all times
• Identifies and cares for biological specimens in accordance with facility policy
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in the use and care of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment; familiar with decontamination, processing, and sterilization procedures

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or active LVN/LPN license required
• BLS certification via American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Must be available for weekend and on-call assignments
• Must be willing to float to additional locations as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of surgical technologist experience preferred
• Proficiency scrubbing in 3 or more specialty areas such as Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, or Robotics highly preferred
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
