Veterinary Hospital Manager

Del Norte Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager who brings together operational excellence, a talent for mentorship, and a commitment to team culture. The ideal candidate will have prior veterinary experience and a proven background in leadership, training, and team development-paired with a business-minded approach to hospital growth.

As our Hospital Manager, you'll work closely with the Medical Director and leadership team, taking ownership of daily operations and guiding our hospital toward continued success.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Operational Oversight: Ensure efficient workflow, maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), manage equipment and inventory, and implement hospital policies and procedures.
• Project & Facility Management: Lead day-to-day operations, scheduling, and maintenance while aligning administrative functions with overall hospital objectives.
• Client & Community Engagement: Oversee marketing strategies, resolve client concerns, enhance client experience, and foster retention and growth.
• Team Leadership: Manage and support department leads, oversee hiring and development, maintain staffing levels, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Schedule, benefits and compensation**:

This is a full-time, salaried position and schedule flexibility is required based on business needs.

• Compensation: $55,000 - $75,000 annual base salary*
• Bi-annual bonus opportunities: Based on hospital performance

Your Qualifications:

• 3+ years of leadership, business management, or operations management experience required.
• Veterinary hospital management experience strongly preferred; medical, dental, or healthcare practice management experience also considered.
• Previous veterinary experience (e.g., Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant, or Client Service Representative) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience managing budgets, staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proficient with business software and able to adapt quickly to new systems.

Del Norte Animal Clinic is an AAHA-accredited, 4-doctor small-animal practice caring for dogs and cats. The hospital offers digital X-ray, digital dental radiography, and a stand-alone isolation ward, supporting both routine and medical cases in a dedicated clinical environment. The practice is an opportunity to work with an established veterinary team focused on compassionate, personalized care while building skills in general practice, diagnostics, and surgery. Located in Albuquerque beneath the Sandia Mountains, the area offers a mix of Southwestern culture, outdoor recreation, local dining, arts, and easy access to historic Old Town and the city's many amenities.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
