Role Description The Membership Director is a full-time, on-site role based at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club in Grosse Pointe, MI. This role oversees membership recruitment, onboarding, and retention through proactive outreach, relationship building, and regular communication with prospective and current members. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing membership inquiries and tours, coordinating membership events and orientations, developing membership marketing initiatives, and maintaining accurate membership records and reports. The Membership Director collaborates with club leadership and departments to ensure a consistent, high-quality member experience, monitors membership trends and goals, and contributes to budgeting and forecasting related to membership activities. The role also involves handling member feedback, resolving service issues, and representing the club in a professional, welcoming manner. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Membership Development and Sales skills, with experience in recruiting, retaining, and growing member bases. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and confident public speaking. Candidates should possess outstanding Customer Service skills, with a focus on building relationships and delivering a high-touch member experience. Candidates should possess Budgeting skills, including the ability to track membership metrics, forecast revenue, and support financial planning. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in hospitality, private clubs, or luxury services; proficiency with CRM or membership management software; strong organizational and time-management abilities; and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
