Social Worker

NHS Ayrshire & Arran

A fantastic opportunity to join an exciting and rewarding team within NHS Highlands! The Care Response Teams (CRT) was developed 4 years ago in response to the Covid 19 outbreak. However, it has now become an established service within NHS Highland where team members deliver urgent and short term care and support to different services across the whole of the North Highlands. As a Social Care Worker you will be responsible for providing personal care and support to service users in Residential care settings such as Care Homes and Care at Home Services, all over the North Highlands. This will provide you with the chance to see a large variety of not only different services and environments, but also different parts of the North Highlands from the northernmost shores in Caithness and Sutherland to the bottom glens of Fort William and Mallaig. Due to the large geographical area that the CRT covers, overnight stays might be required and use of your own car with full driving license is essential. Flexibility and a “Can do” attitude is a must, alongside a positive attitude. Your role will be to provide high quality care, assistance and support in order to maintain and promote the independence for people in their own homes or care facilities. The role is closely supported by a team of fellow Social Care Workers and Social Care assistances, Team leads and a Team Manager. The team also works closely alongside other NHS professionals and Social Work services. In order to be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates will be able to provide evidence of experience in dealing with vulnerable adults, especially older people, preferably in a caring capacity. This post is responsible for providing personal care and support to service users and to support care staff to meet the needs of older people in a residential care setting or Care at Home Service. Supporting the provision for vulnerable people; providing assistance with key tasks which maintain and promote the independence for people in their own homes, as required by legislation. In addition to this, as a SCW, you will be required to be able to lead a shift and administer medication as outlined in the job description. Teams will be made up from a range of Social Care staff posts and will be closely supported by a Manager and Team leads, as well as benefitting from the input of other NHS and Social work services. A specific induction will be provided. In order to be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates will be able to provide evidence of experience in dealing with vulnerable adults, especially older people, preferably in a caring capacity. Applicant must have good communication skills – both verbally and in writing. In order to comply with the registration with the SSSC, candidates must be in possession of or be willing to complete a SVQ Level 3, within an agreed timeframe. For further information please refer to the person specification. You will be required to work to a 4-on 4-off rolling rota which includes not only weekends but also a variety of different 11.25 hours shift patterns which includes Nightshifts. A driving licence is essential for this post and applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes. #J-18808-Ljbffr
