The Role As Tax Manager, you'll oversee a diverse portfolio of small business and individual clients, providing expert tax planning, compliance and business advisory services. Working closely with clients throughout the year, you'll become a trusted advisor while supporting and developing junior members of the team. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review complex Federal, State and Local tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, S Corporations and C Corporations. Deliver proactive tax planning and advisory services to help clients minimise tax liabilities and achieve their business goals. Oversee month‑end and year‑end accounting activities, financial statement reviews and bookkeeping services. Research tax legislation and provide practical guidance on changing tax laws and compliance requirements. Build trusted relationships with business owners, acting as their primary advisor for tax and accounting matters. Mentor, coach and review the work of staff accountants and bookkeepers, ensuring high‑quality client service and compliance with GAAP. About You We're looking for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys working closely with clients and developing others who has worked with small to medium size businesses or midmarket clients. You'll have: 5+ years' experience in public accounting. An active CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) qualification. Strong experience preparing and reviewing business and individual tax returns. Knowledge of small business accounting, bookkeeping and financial reporting. Experience with QuickBooks Online and cloud‑based tax/accounting software. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly. A collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring junior staff. Driving licence and own transport Due to location you need to be within 30 mile radius of Riverhead, NY area.
