MRI Technologist

Full time MRI Technologist position in north of Topeka, Kansas. Responsible for performing high quality MRI exams while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations per physician orders and protocols.
• Prepare and educate patients about MRI procedures, addressing questions.
• Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications, including implants.
• Position patients to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
• Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining image quality.
• Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures for comfort and safety.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately.
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in EMR.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and others to coordinate care.
• Ensure compliance with MRI safety guidelines, infection prevention, and policies.
• Perform routine equipment QA checks and report maintenance concerns.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care during every interaction.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT certification required.
• Current Kansas Radiologic Technologist licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and imaging protocols.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• ARRT (MR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience operating MRI equipment in a hospital or outpatient setting.
• Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic image quality.
• Excellent patient care and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
