Physical Therapist – Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations, reassessments, and develop individualized plans of care for acute care patients across settings including ER, ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Orthopedics
• Provide gait training, therapeutic exercise (AROM/AAROM/PROM), and mobility assistance using assistive devices such as walkers, gait belts, and crutches
• Conduct patient and family education including home exercise programs, body mechanics, and discharge planning
• Assess and monitor vital signs, pain levels, skin integrity, and strength to guide treatment progression
• Manage a caseload that includes geriatric patients and those with diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, CABG, MI, hip fractures, total joint replacements, and post-stroke rehabilitation
• Document all clinical activities using Epic electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Active California Physical Therapist (PT) state license in good standing at time of submission
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist
• Acute care experience required
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of candidate submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working across multiple acute care service lines including ICU, ER, and orthopedics
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Experience with post-surgical rehabilitation including total hip and total knee replacement patients
