Salary: $70,000 annually

Schedule: Full-Time | Primarily Monday–Friday, Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for emergencies or scheduled maintenance.

Travel: Regular travel between Boston and New Hampshire locations

Company Vehicle: Provided for approved business travel

About the Role

Community Work Services (CWS) is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Mechanic to provide hands-on maintenance and repair support across our facilities in Boston and New Hampshire. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a well-rounded maintenance professional who can independently troubleshoot and perform repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair general building and mechanical issues.

• Perform basic to intermediate electrical repairs involving lighting, switches, outlets, fixtures, and related components within applicable licensing requirements.

• Perform plumbing repairs involving toilets, sinks, faucets, drains, valves, leaks, and other common building issues.

• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on HVAC, heating, and cooling systems.

• Perform carpentry, drywall, painting, door, lock, hardware, and general building repairs.

• Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections of building systems and equipment.

• Respond to urgent facility repair needs and complete and document maintenance work orders.

• Maintain tools, equipment, parts, supplies, and required facility and safety records.

• Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized or licensed repairs are required.

• Travel regularly between Boston and assigned New Hampshire facilities using a company-provided vehicle.

• Responsible for custodial/janitorial operations across locations

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on facilities, building, property, or commercial maintenance

• experience required.

• Demonstrated experience across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC,

• carpentry, and general building repairs.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and ability to independently diagnose

• maintenance issues.

• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

• Commercial building maintenance experience strongly preferred.

• Boiler or commercial heating system experience is a plus.

• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding maintenance work.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

• Ability and willingness to regularly travel between Boston and New Hampshire locations
