IT Security Analyst

IT Security Analyst – Technology Division We are seeking an IT Security Analyst to join the Technology division. The role monitors, analyzes, and responds to security events across OUC’s technology environment, supporting day‑to‑day security operations, SIEM monitoring, vulnerability review, malware investigation, incident response assistance, and access‑related troubleshooting. The position follows a 3/2 hybrid 40‑hour schedule with on‑site work every Tuesday and Thursday and additional on‑site days as needed. Responsibilities Investigate & remediate security of information assets, identify potential threats, and conduct malware analysis. Respond to incidents, provide initial assessments, recover services, and post incident information. Serve as a technical lead / SME on IT projects and participate in security architecture design. Monitor security events at network, application, database, and operating system levels. Identify weaknesses in security posture, develop remediation plans, and minimize risk. Provide escalated security tool administration and perform user access provisioning across major IT assets. Conduct security awareness training for business units and IT support technicians. Serve as primary security contact for IT RFPs, contracts, and vendor reviews. Assist with configuration, implementation, and testing of security tools, and assess risk for new and existing technology. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of hands‑on experience in information security analysis or security operations, including basic malware analysis and Windows server administration. Experience with SIEM monitoring, vulnerability management, and patching solutions. Ability to identify and understand common threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities (malware, social engineering, application‑based attacks). Knowledge of cloud identity and access management security. Creative, “think‑outside‑the‑box” mindset and ability to explain security concepts to non‑technical audiences. Collaborative communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement. Preferred certifications or willingness to obtain CISSP, GCIH, GREM, CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, SecureX, or similar credentials. Willingness to work a hybrid schedule and participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation. Technical Requirements Working knowledge of SIEM, DLP, multi‑factor authentication, cloud computing, mobile device security, and security architecture design. Enterprise applications, desktop security management, and network management. Structured Query Language (SQL). Familiarity with legal guidelines, ordinances, and laws related to IT security. Experience with product documentation, RFPs, legal contracts, and vendor reviews. Strong communication and analytical skills, ability to handle confidential information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment. Education / Certifications Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related area of study; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Information Security Analysis and/or Operations performing basic malware analysis and Windows server administration. Preferred certifications: CISSP, GCIH, GREM, CCNP, or other relevant industry certifications. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $79,200‑$99,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
