Estate Planning and Probate Attorney

Overview A law firm seeks an Estate Planning and Probate Attorney in Spokane Valley, WA. This role involves providing comprehensive estate planning and probate services to clients in Washington and Idaho. The attorney will focus on foundational and tax‑aware estate planning, including revocable trusts, wills, and powers of attorney, while managing probate and trust administration for non‑taxable and moderately complex estates. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive estate plans for individuals and families. Draft revocable trusts, wills, community property agreements, and powers of attorney. Advise clients on potential estate tax exposure and implement tax‑sensitive planning. Manage probate matters from initiation through closing. Guide personal representatives and assist trustees with trust administration. Prepare inventories, notices, and required court filings. Coordinate with CPAs on tax returns and ensure statutory compliance. Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex planning and taxable estates. Work closely with paralegals to ensure efficient file progression. Qualifications JD from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing in Washington. 2+ years of estate planning experience or Tax LLM with 1 year of experience. Experience conducting client meetings independently. Experience drafting wills, trusts, and durable powers of attorney. Experience handling probate matters from start to finish. Education JD from an accredited law school. Licensing Licensed to practice law in Washington. Skills Ability to manage files efficiently and meet production expectations. Strong communication skills to convey complex topics in plain language.
