Requisition No: 878474 Agency: Department of Corrections Working Title: CORRECTIONAL PROBATION SENIOR OFFICER – 70024398 Facility: 15‑2 Boynton Beach Probation and Parole, Delray Beach, Florida (Palm Beach County) Job Overview: The incumbent supervises and manages a specialized caseload of youthful offenders, drug offender probation, community controlees, pre‑trial intervention offenders, and offender releases. Duties also include intake, court liaison, training, electronic monitoring device installation, and assistance with residential treatment facilities and program participation. Responsibilities Encourage offender compliance with supervision orders through guidance, goal setting, and monitoring of community behavior. Conduct field and office supervision visits, including personal contact, collateral contacts, surveillance, telephone, and electronic methods. Respond to public and victim concerns, taking appropriate and prompt action. Assess offender needs, treatment options, and supervision objectives; refer offenders as appropriate; establish and record structured treatment programs. Develop offender payment plans, enforce compliance, and maintain comprehensive case records (electronic and hard copy). Conduct pre‑sentence, pre‑trial, post‑sentence, interstate compact, and other required investigations; make recommendations on continued supervision, revocation, diversion, or incarceration. Represent the department in hearings and proceedings before sentencing or releasing authorities; report non‑compliance and prepare violation reports. Maintain liaison with judiciary, prosecutors, public defenders, law enforcement, treatment providers, and other criminal justice entities; develop partnerships to enhance public safety. Provide individual and group counseling as needed; interview offenders to obtain relevant information. Monitor and test offenders for controlled substances and alcohol; conduct searches and make arrests when applicable. Install and maintain electronic/radio and GPS monitoring equipment; interpret collected data for compliance documentation. Handle administrative duties and assist supervisors in their absence; serve on teams, committees, and task forces to refine practices and implement policies; attend and deliver training. Essential/Entry‑Level KSAs Ability to work independently and/or under stressful conditions. Ability to communicate effectively. Full Performance KSAs Knowledge of techniques for advising, interviewing, and counseling. Ability to review and analyze data. Ability to assist offenders in solving problems. Ability to conduct investigations. Ability to apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements Certified in accordance with Florida Statutes 943.13. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
