Brazos Learning Montessori School is seeking an experienced, dependable, and nurturing Toddler Montessori Guide to work with children 18 months to 3 years of age .

We are looking for an early childhood professional who understands that the toddler years are a critical period for developing language, movement, independence, self-regulation, social skills, and confidence . The ideal candidate can guide young children with patience, consistency, respect, and clear expectations while maintaining a peaceful Montessori environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a calm, safe, organized, and intentionally prepared Montessori environment.

• Provide attentive and developmentally appropriate care and guidance for toddlers.

• Present Montessori and Montessori-inspired activities supporting Practical Life, Sensorial exploration, language, movement, concentration, coordination, and independence .

• Encourage independence with dressing, eating, handwashing, cleaning, carrying and restoring materials, and caring for the classroom.

• Support toilet learning with patience, consistency, and respect.

• Model and teach Grace & Courtesy , appropriate classroom boundaries, and beginning conflict-resolution skills.

• Support language development through conversation, vocabulary, songs, stories, and modeling.

• Respond appropriately to toddler behaviors such as biting, hitting, pushing, throwing, and tantrums through prevention, redirection, and consistent guidance.

• Maintain active supervision and remain engaged with children throughout the day.

• Observe and document children's development, routines, classroom activities, and incidents as required.

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, beautiful, and developmentally appropriate classroom.

• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and administration.

• Follow Texas childcare licensing requirements and all school health, safety, training, and professional standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional childcare or early childhood education experience.
  
  
• Professional experience with children 18 months to 3 years old strongly preferred.
  
  
• Must meet Texas Child Care Regulation background check and employment requirements.

• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it within the required timeframe.

• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, Montessori credential/training, or related education preferred.

• Montessori experience strongly preferred; however, candidates willing to learn, receive training and feedback, and consistently implement Montessori practices will be considered.

• Understanding of developmentally appropriate expectations and guidance for children under three.

Professional Expectations

Because toddlers depend heavily on predictable routines and familiar adults, dependability, attendance, punctuality, and consistency are essential.

Candidates should demonstrate patience, emotional maturity, strong classroom awareness, initiative, teamwork, professional communication, and the ability to remain calm during challenging behaviors.

Guides must be receptive to coaching and continued professional development, maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality, and follow school policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position requiring sitting and working on the floor, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying children, assisting with toileting and self-care, cleaning and sanitizing, and supervising children indoors and outdoors.
