If you are a current State of Oregon employee, you must apply through your employee Workday profile.A day in the life:Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support new and existing ODOT applications using DB2, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and other platforms.Design secure, efficient data exchange solutions for both batch and real-time processing across cloud and in-house systems.Define and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices for data modeling, storage, and governance.Conduct profiling, analysis, and performance tuning to maintain high-quality, reliable databases.Manage relational databases, metadata repositories, and enterprise schemas while ensuring regulatory compliance and system security.Provide input on data sharing, integration, and analytics initiatives, including infrastructure for reporting, AI/ML, and data products.Coordinate complex software installations, version upgrades, and migrations across distributed environments.Work with IS staff, vendors, and business units to assess needs, solve problems, and align technology with agency goals.Develop and execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime to system failures, assist users with data issues, and train staff on database tools and best practices.Work in an office environment with hybrid work options available.
