Replenish stock inventory and maintain records on stock levels. Interact with clinical and administrative customers regarding supply needs. Communicate concerns related to supplies, equipment, and procedures to the Lead or Supervisor. Provide information to customers regarding medical supplies. Monitor expiration dates, rotate stock to limit outdates, and remove outdated items from use. Monitor and control critical supplies. Perform daily inventory using bar coding equipment on a predetermined schedule. Support timely stock replenishment. Resolve differences between inventory records and physical stock counts. Distribute items according to established or ad hoc requirements in computerized inventory management systems. Deliver supplies in a timely manner. Ensure supplies and materials are delivered in sterile and operational condition. Complete specialty cart preparation. Clean assigned secondary areas in accordance with aseptic principles. Receive supplies and materials into the medical center's catchment area. Driver's License Requirement: Incumbent must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license. Experience may include using automated inventory systems to monitor issues and receipts for stock replenishment. Experience may include knowledge of supply item names, trays, sets, item descriptions, medical and surgical terminology, work methods, and clinical priorities. Experience may include communicating concepts, techniques, and methods orally and in writing to internal and external customers. Education Substitution: Applicants could qualify with four years of education above high school. Education could be in any field for which high school graduation or equivalent is the normal prerequisite. Qualifying education could be from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. Combination of Education and Experience: Applicants could qualify through a combination of specialized experience and education beyond 60 semester hours, or two years above high school. Education: Transcript was required if using education to qualify. Education must be from an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign education must be supported by a certificate of foreign equivalency if used to meet qualification requirements. Physical Requirements: Work requires standing and walking during the entire workday. Requires frequent reaching, bending, and lifting of supply packages. Supply packages may occasionally weigh as much as 50 pounds. Requires pushing loaded carts of medical supplies weighing more than 100 pounds. With proper assistance, may move heavier items weighing over 40 pounds. Driving may be required. USA Hire Assessment: This position required an online USA Hire assessment. The assessment measured critical general competencies required for the position. Applicants were instructed to set aside at least three hours, although most applicants complete the assessments in less time.
