Outside Machinist CTR Group is seeking an Outside Machinist local to the Norfolk, VA area. Immediate openings and urgently hiring! Pay: $20-$31 Depending on experience JobDescription Assures that a Work Authorization Form (WAF) ticket is on the job site and that it is for the specific job being accomplished, no work will be accomplished without a WAF posted at location of repairs Assures that any other safety issues are complied with that relate to the specific job being accomplished (Example: special staging, face shields for grinding, protective clothing for hot work-related jobs, breathing apparatus with correct cartridges, etc.) Assures that you are trained for the work you are assigned to do (Example: JLG, forklift, welding, brazing, special electrical/mechanical repairs, etc.) Assures that personnel are working as safely and as productively as possible always maintaining quality control Assures that a 30-minute cool down period has been accomplished in hot work areas Assures that the job site is left in a safe and clean condition prior to departure Requirements At least 4 years directly related experience in a Shipyard Environment Able to read and use tech manuals and blueprints and specification items Able to use and understand precision measuring instruments Operate grinder (fixed and portable) Operate drill presses (fixed and portable) Fixed presses, porta powers, and hydraulic jacks Torches and torque wrenches Assorted sizes of combination wrenches Socket sets, slip joint pliers, adjustable wrenches, and wire pliers Hammers-ball pean, flat head, small mall, and screw drivers (flat and phillips) Vise grips, 6" scale- 12' tape measure, and snap ring pliers Micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers Pipe wrench, punch set, and chisels Other tools as identified and determined as needed Shafting repairs and alignment, fixed and controllable pitch Propellers removed and installed Rudders repair and installed About CTR Group: CTR Group operates in the staffing and recruitment industry, Nationwide for over 35 years.
