Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Pediatric Intensive Care Unit – Maryland

Start Date: November 23, 2026

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (3x12s may be considered). Patient ratio of 1:2. Weekend requirement includes 5 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) within each 6-week schedule. No on-call required. Contract length of 14+ weeks available.

Highlights:

• 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit serving infants, pediatric, and adolescent patients
• Comprehensive case mix including respiratory distress/failure, DKA, seizures, pain management, and sepsis
• Manage patients requiring moderate sedation, continuous drips, arterial lines, central lines, and ventilator support
• Cerner EMR system with approximately 40 hours of orientation (virtual, clinical, and on-unit)
• Floating required to NICU and Pediatrics based on hospital needs
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome

Requirements:

• Valid Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• BCLS/BLS, PALS, and Basic EKG certifications required
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Central line and PICC line management experience required
• Experience with anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations required
• ICP monitoring experience required
• Proficiency with ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and chest tube management required
• Must be comfortable caring for ventilated pediatric patients and managing acute airways
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
