Staff Accountant in Seguin, Texas

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, family-oriented business. Responsibilities Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time Assist in monitoring accounts receivable and following up on past-due balances Process and record vendor invoices and ensure timely payment Record and reconcile EFT transactions, credit card activity, and bank statements Learn and support Accounts Payable (AP) posting to suppliers Assist with deferred tax invoices and related reporting Maintain accurate general ledger entries and support month-end and year-end close processes Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as assigned Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Maintain supporting documentation for audits, compliance, and management requests Help track and record fuel sales, freight costs, and inventory balances for accuracy Monitor expense accounts to ensure proper coding and approvals Assist in preparing and filing sales tax and fuel tax reports Participate in special projects , such as process improvements, system enhancements, and internal audits Provide administrative and accounting support to the Accounting Manager and leadership team Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or in progress) Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel ; experience with accounting software Willingness to learn and grow in the role, with mentorship from senior staff Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism What We Offer Hands-on mentorship and training from experienced accounting leadership Competitive compensation package Health, dental, and retirement benefits Career development within a stable, growing company A supportive, family-oriented work environment rooted in community values #J-18808-Ljbffr Alexander Oil Company
