Location: Rye Brook, NY

Compensation: 90000-110000

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will manage a variety of accounting and tax functions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and delivering accurate financial reporting. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, handling write-ups, and supporting payroll and sales tax processes. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and clients to provide high-quality accounting services. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate, partnership, individual, and estate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Perform write-ups and manage sales tax and light payroll tax processes.
• Handle tax preparation and review, including Forms 706 and 709, with attention to detail.
• Utilize UltraTax software for tax preparation and reporting tasks.
• Support tax season operations, including extended hours and mandatory Saturday work during peak periods.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of client deliverables.

Required Experience/Skills

• Proven experience working in small to mid-sized accounting firms.
• Strong background in tax preparation and review for various entities, including individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Familiarity with estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 and 709).
• Proficiency in write-ups, sales tax, and payroll tax processes.
• Ability to work extended hours during tax season, including evenings and weekends as required.

Preferred Experience/Skills

• Experience with UltraTax software for tax preparation.
• Knowledge of fiduciary and nonprofit tax returns (Forms 1041 and 990).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification is a plus but not required.
• Continuing education in tax law and accounting standards preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
• Advanced coursework in taxation is desirable.
